Ricky Rubio: “I Minnesota Timberwolves saranno sempre nel mio cuore”

L’ADDIO DEL PLAYMAKER

I Minnesota Timberwolves hanno lasciato un segno nel cuore di Ricky Rubio.

Dopo esser stato scambiato con gli Utah Jazz, nella trade che ha visto arrivare a Minnesota la scelta protetta del primo giro (entro la 14), Ricky Rubio ha subito pensato di regalare un pensiero di ringraziamento ai Timberwolves.

L’ex playmaker, ha infatti rilasciato un comunicato, subito condiviso su tutti i social, dove raccontava la sua bellissima esperienza a Minnesota.

Basketball brought me here 6 years ago. I didn't know much about Minnesota, and now I'm proud to call it home. You never know what this journey will bring you, and I wouldn't change a bit of mine over the last 6 years. I remember arriving here like it was yesterday. I stepped out of the airport and was overwhelmed with your support. It's something I'll never forget. What we have in Minnesota is special and you don't know that until you live there. You helped me to grow as a player, but more importantly as a person. I learned a lot, met incredible people who became part of my family and will always be in my heart…. especially you, Flip. I gave my best night after night. I'm sorry we couldn't make the playoffs because you deserve it. I am grateful to the Timberwolves organization and all of my coaches, trainers and staff. Finally, I want to thank all of the amazing teammates I was fortunate to play alongside for the last 6 years. I wish nothing but the best for you guys.

Ovviamente in questo comunicato la frase che più a toccato i suoi vecchi tifosi non poteva che esser:

6 ANNI DI SODDISFAZIONI

Ricky Rubio è entrato a far parte dei Minnesota Timberwolves nel 2011, trovando una vera e propria seconda casa.

Un pensiero viene anche fatto all’ormai defunto Flip Sanders (2015), che è stato per un periodo il coach del ragazzo.

Rubio in questi 6 anni, è cresciuto molto e ha migliorato anno dopo anno, le sue prestazioni diventando un giocatore di spicco della franchigia.

In 6 stagioni con la maglia dei Timberwolves ha fatto registrare una media di: 10, 3 punti, 8,5 assist, 4,2 rimbalzi e 2,1 rubate.

Infine Ricky Rubio, sempre nel comunicato, lascia spazio anche al rammarico per non esser riuscito a portare la squadra ai Playoffs.

Ora però il playmaker, ha ancora un po’ di anni davanti a se, e anche se non è riuscito a portare la sua ex squadra ai playoffs, adesso avrà la possibilità di farlo con un altro team, e chissà se magari riuscirà a lasciare il segno anche agli Utah Jazz.
