The Thunder (37-19, third place in the West) represent what Morris believes is his best fit right now, and he’s slated to play significant role in frontcourt. Morris and his agent, Rich Paul, sorted through offers this week and had positive dialogue with teams.

Markieff Morris, 30 anni e da quasi quattro stagioni a Washington, era stato spedito a New Orleans in cambio della guardia Wesley Johnson, assieme ad una seconda scelta al draft 2023 lo scorso 7 febbraio. I Pelicans hanno successivamente rilasciato il prodotto di Kansas, che è quindi diventato free agent.
Morris non scende in campo dallo scorso 3 di gennaio, a causa di problemi al collo.
