Venezia la spunta in volata ma non conferma il buon momento dopo il largo successo di Eurocup. Per Bologna nuovamente rimandato il primo successo esterno (salgono a 16 le perse consecutive) ma questa sconfitta non rende merito all’ottima prestazione dei ragazzi di coach Valli. Nonostante tutto Il Taliercio si conferma un fortino per i veneti e adesso la Reyer necessita di qualche soddisfazione in trasferta per sperare di ambire ai quartieri alti della classifica.
Partono forte i locali nei primi minuti, 9-1 al 3′ e poco dopo 18-8 al 6′ grazie una serie di triple che alla fine del primo tempo saranno ben 9. Bologna a fine primo quarto recupera qualche punto grazie alle triple concesse dalla zona dei veneti e sempre una tripla di Viggiano all’ultimo secondo fissa il punteggio del primo quarto sul 23-19.
Dopo il primo mini-intervallo arriva la prima spallata nel punteggio della Reyer che andrà all’intervallo con 13 punti di vantaggio sul 41-28. Green da un parte (12 punti e 4/4 da 3) e Odom dall’altra (11 punti e 12 di val. in 9 minuti) i migliori interpreti di un primo tempo che sorride ai locali fino questo punto decisamente in controllo.
Dopo la pausa lunga un po’ a sorpresa il copione cambia, due triple (Vitali e Gaddy) e una schiacciata di Fells rimettono in corsa Bologna sul 41-36 al 22 minuto. Venezia si affida a Owens vicino a canestro, trovando un paio di canestri facili che però non interrompono il buon momento degli emiliani che a metà terzo quarto rimettono il punteggio in parità. Per i ragazzi di coach Recalcati un lungo passaggio a vuoto che rende vano quanto di buon fatto nel primo tempo. Fine terzo quarto 51-54 grazie un parziale a favore degli ospiti di 10-26.
Negli ultimi 10 minuti l’inerzia rimane leggermente a favori dei ragazzi di coach Valli che al 35 minuto hanno 4 punti di vantaggio (57-61). Pittman e Vitali i più attivi per le V-nere , mentre Green cerca di caricarsi sulle spalle i compagni gestendo palloni che iniziano a scottare. Bologna è carica di falli (tre giocatori con 4 falli) mentre per i locali il solo Owens commette il suo 4° al 36′. Il finale è punto a punto, gli emiliani hanno buona intensità in difesa che costringe qualche forzatura Goss e compagni. Ad una tripla di Ress sul 66-66 a 2 minuti dalla fine risponde Odom per il controsorpasso. Un minuto alla fine Bologna sul +1 ma Odom e Fells commettono il quinto fallo. Negli ultimi secondi i liberi di Goss e Green premiano la Reyer in un finale che non rende merito all’ottima seconda parte di partita della Virtus.
MPV dell’incontro Mike Green, che a parte i 21 punti e 28 di valutazione si fa trovare pronto nei momenti decisivi, un vero trascinatore per i compagni. Adesso per Venezia non resta che cercare sfatare il taboo delle sconfitte in trasferta che dura da 5 incontri. Il prossimo turno sul campo del fanalino Capo d’Orlando potrebbe essere l’occasione giusta. Per la Virtus invece impegno interno con l’Enel Brindisi nuovamente alla ricerca di punti fondamentali per non retrocedere.
