E’ scomparso all’età di 67 anni Fred McLeod, telecronista delle partite dei Cleveland Cavaliers per Fox Sports Ohio. Ad annunciare la notizia gli stessi Cavs nella giornata di martedì.
McLeod, originario di Strongsville, Ohio, era il play-by-play announcer dei Cavaliers dal 2006 assieme a Austin Carr, ex giocatore dei Cavs ed uno dei “color commentator” più apprezzati nella NBA. Prima di occuparsi dei Cavaliers, McLeod era stato per ben 22 anni telecronista per i Detroit Pistons e per i Lions, la squadra NFL della città del Michigan.

McLeod passerà alla storia come il telecronista dell’unico titolo NBA vinto in quasi 50 anni di storia dai Cavaliers nel 2016 contro i Golden State Warriors, finali in cui i Cavs rimontarono uno svantaggio di 1-3 per vincere in trasferta alla Oracle Arena di Oakland l’anello di campioni.
Fred McLeod ha commentato in carriera oltre 1000 partite dei Cleveland Cavaliers, ed era produttore esecutivo di Cavaliers Multimedia, piattaforma che produce contenuti online e interviste su Cavs.com e Cavs HQ.
