La Carpegna Prosciutto Pesaro ufficializza l’arrivo di Austin Daye. L’ala grande ex San Antonio Spurs torna a Pesaro, dopo l’esperienza a Taiwan con i New Taipei Kings. La squadra allenata da Jasmin Repesa, dopo diversi corteggiamenti, chiude con il giocatore campione NBA 2014 con i San Antonio Spurs. Daye torna a vestire la canotta di Pesaro dopo ben sette stagioni.
Sette stagioni nelle quali Daye si è fatto conoscere molto bene nel nostro campionato. Con la maglia della Reyer Venezia ha infatti giocato 104 partite , arrivando a vincere un’Eurocup nel 2017-2018. In Italia ha conquistato lo Scudetto l’anno successivo (dov’è stato anche MVP delle LBA Finals) e la Coppa Italia nel 2020, accompagnando quest’ultima col titolo di MVP della competizione. A dare l’annuncio del ritorno di Daye è stata proprio la società tramite un comunicato.

Ecco qui il comunicato della società: ” La Carpegna Prosciutto Basket Pesaro comunica di aver sottoscritto un accordo con il giocatore Austin Daye. Per l’ala forte nata a Irvine il 5 giugno 1988 si tratta della seconda esperienza in maglia pesarese dopo quella vissuta nel 2015/2016 e conclusasi con il raggiungimento della salvezza nel massimo campionato. La carriera professionistica di Daye inizia nel 2009 con la maglia dei Detroit Pistons, con i quali resta fino al 2013 prima di passare al Khimki, Memphis Grizzlies, Toronto Raptors e San Antonio Spurs. Dopo le parentesi con Erie BayHawks e Atlanta Hawks, approda a Pesaro per poi trasferirsi in Turchia al Galatasaray. Nel 2017/2018 è in Israele con l’Hapoel Gerusalemme mentre dal 2018 al 2022 torna in Italia per difendere i colori della Reyer Venezia: con la squadra veneta vince la FIBA Europe Cup, uno scudetto e una Coppa Italia. Arriva a Pesaro reduce dall’esperienza con la canotta dei New Taipei Kings”.
