Tempi duri per i Phoenix Suns di Kevin Durant, Bradley Beal e Devin Booker. Contro i Sacramento Kings è arrivata l’ottava sconfitta in undici partite. Certo, gli infortuni hanno penalizzato il cammino della squadra di coach Frank Vogel ma anche chi sta avendo più minuti grazie alla situazione è ben consapevole che a prescindere va cercata la vittoria. Fra questi vi è anche Eric Gordon che spiega così a Bleacher Report: “vorrei un ruolo più importante”
Suns, le parole di Eric Gordon
Spieghiamo meglio. Eric Gordon, guardia tiratrice alla diciassettesima stagione nella Lega, sta avendo un ampio minutaggio in queste ultime partite. Eppure, l’ex Los Angeles Clippers, ha giocato 25 minuti da titolare prendendo però solo due tiri: “All’inizio della stagione era meglio. E ultimamente non c’è stato modo di farmi vedere di più. Quindi, è sicuramente diverso. Ultimamente non ho ricevuto quasi nessun pallone”.
L’allenatore dei Suns Frank Vogel ha parlato della situazione riconoscendo come la squadra abbia bisogno di utilizzare maggiormente Gordon: “Stiamo valutando diversi giocatori. Abbiamo bisogno di gente che si faccia avanti. Devo continuare ad organizzare il minutaggio di alcuni ragazzi. Possiamo coinvolgere Eric Gordon più di quanto sto facendo io? Non sto facendo un lavoro abbastanza buono per assicurarmi che sia coinvolto abbastanza nell’attacco. È un ragazzo che può davvero aiutarci”.
Gordon può essere veramente utile alla causa. In 843 partite Gordon ha tenuto una media di 16.0 punti, 2.1 rimbalzi e 2.8 assist. Anche in un’uscita dalla panchina può comunque portare punti molto importanti per la squadra di Vogel oltre alla sua ultradecennale esperienza.
Gordon ha poi aggiunto: “Abbiamo molti buoni giocatori. Trovarsi in una situazione di questo tipo è un po’ diverso, perché non si possono mai avere dei cali di tensione come questo. Quindi, è sicuramente molto diverso da quello che mi aspettavo. Siamo passati da sette vittorie di fila all’inizio della stagione a otto sconfitte su undici. È inaspettato con il tipo di squadra che abbiamo. Dobbiamo solo capire quali sono i diversi sacrifici da fare per cercare di vincere una partita”.
