Jackie Young delle Las Vegas Aces ha vinto il premio di Most Improved Player WNBA 2022, dopo una stagione condotta a oltre 15 punti di media per la squadra col miglior record stagionale.
Young è alla sua quarta stagione a Las Vegas, per lei 34 partite giocate e 15.9 punti di media a gara con 4.4 rimbalzi e 3.9 assist, sempre da titolare, in 33.2 minuti di gioco. Le Aces hanno chiuso la stagione regolare con 26 vittorie e 10 sconfitte, miglior record, che è valso a Becky Hammon il premio di allenatrice dell’anno.
Jackie Young fa parte del quintetto a tre guardie creato da Hammon per la stagione 2022, assieme a Kelsey Plum e Chelsea Gray, ed è stata convocata quest’anno al suo primo All-Star Game in carriera.
La stagione 2022 rischia di essere ricca di premi per le Las Vegas Aces: dopo Hammon e Young, A’ja Wilson e Kelsey Plum sono in corsa per il premio di MVP, e sia Wilson, Plum e Gray sono in lizza per un posto in uno dei due quintetti All-WNBA. In gara 1 delle semifinali di playoffs WNBA contro le Seattle Storm, persa per 76-73, Jackie Young ha chiuso con 11 punti e 5 assist in 34 minuti.
